Canada - Peggy´s Cove Lighthouse

Peggys Point Lighthouse also known as Peggys Cove Lighthouse is an active lighthouse and an iconic Canadian image. Located within Peggys CoveNova Scotia, it is one of the busiest tourist attractions in the province and is a prime attraction on the Lighthouse Trail scenic drive. The lighthouse marks the eastern entrance of St. Margarets Bay and is officially known as the Peggys Point Lighthouse.

Germany - Holtenau Lioghthouse

Holtenau Nord
1895. Active; focal plane 22 m (72 ft); white or green light, depending on direction, occulting three times, separated by 2 s, every 12 s. 20 m (66 ft) round cylindrical brick tower with lantern and gallery rising from the front of a 2-story brick Imperial-style building. Lighthouse unpainted, lantern is black. This lighthouse stands at the northeastern entrance of the Nord-Ostsee Kanal (Kiel Canal). Since 1895 this 98.7 km (61.3 mi) canal has provided a shortcut between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea via Kiel. The building includes a memorial hall, the Drei-Kaiser-Gedächtnishalle, in remembrance of Kaisers Wilhelm I, who inaugurated construction of the canal in 1887; Friedrich III, who turned the first shovel of dirt here in 1888, and Wilhelm II, who laid the cornerstone of the lighthouse in 1895. It also houses a registrar's office where weddings are performed. Located at the end of the Thiessenkai, the quay on the north side of the canal in Holtenau, about 12 km (7.5 mi) north of Kiel. Site open, building open daily; it is not known if the tower can be climbed.

The buildings of the St Helena Light complex are the sole surviving structures on St. Helena Island, in Mackinac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lighthouse on the St. Helena Island's southeastern point was built in 1872-1873 and went into operation in September 1873. It became one of a series of lighthouses that guided vessels through the Straits of Mackinac, past a dangerous shoal that extends from the island

Round Island Passage Light (1948, automated in 1973 ) near Mackinac Island. 
Also known as Mackinac Island light. Round Island Passage light and Round Island light 
are only about 600 meters apart.

Round Island Light (1895, automated in 1924, deactivated from 1947-1996). Now part of the National Forest on tiny, uninhabited Round Island, the building was restored in 1978 for the filming of the movie "Somewhere in Time."Some of these photos were taken during a lighthouse tour during the North American Light House Festival held in Mackinaw City, Michigan. The tours were so popular the Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry now offers several tours on scattered days through the summer and other photos were taken during those tours.

USA - Boston Light

Boston Light is a lighthouse located on Little Brewster Island in outer Boston HarborMassachusetts. The first lighthouse to be built on the site dates back to 1716, and was the first lighthouse to be built in what is now the United States. The current lighthouse dates from 1783, is the second oldest working lighthouse in the United States (after Sandy Hook Lighthouse in New Jersey), and is the only lighthouse to still be actively staffed by the United States Coast Guard, being automated in 1998 though there is still a keeper acting as tour guide. The structure was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964

USA - Point Judith Light

The Point Judith Light is located on the west side of the entrance to Narragansett BayRhode Island as well as the north side of the eastern entrance to Block Island Sound. The confluence of two waterways make this area busy with water traffic and the waters around Point Judith are very cold and dangerous. Historically, even with active lighthouses, there have been many shipwrecks off these coasts.

Netherlands - Paard van Marken

he Paard van Marken (English: Horse of Marken) is a lighthouse on the Dutch peninsula Marken, on the IJsselmeer. It was built in 1839 by J. Valk. A primitive lighthouse had been on the location since the early 18th century; the current lighthouse is a Rijksmonument since 1970.

Germany - Wittenbergen Lighthouse

1900. Active; focal plane 30 m (98 ft); white light 4 s on, 4 s off, synchronized with the rear light. 30 m (98 ft) hexagonal skeletal tower with a large circular lantern and gallery, enclosed 2-story watch room, and central cylinder. Lighthouse painted with red and white horizontal bands, lantern white with a black roof, gallery railing black. A photo is at right, Werning has a good photo, Trabas has a closeup photo by Wolfgang Warncke, a 2009 photo is available, Wikimedia has additional photos, Huelse has a historic postcard view, Ingo Maack has a closeup street view, and Google has a satellite view. This is the front light of a downstream (westbound) range marking the channel for ships leaving Hamburg. The initial placement of the tower was incorrect, so it was moved 8 m (26 ft) south in 1905. The lighthouse was restored and modernized in 1979. Located on the north bank of the Elbe at Wittenbergen; Site open, tower closed.
